cracked gear in transfer case, help

I'm putting my car together (just bought), and when I was about to put the gear in the transfer case that runs right to left and goes into the transmission I noticed it was cracked at the very end (the part the goes into the transmission. I assume this is vital and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know what it's called? is this something I can buy, or should I head out to the junkyard?

manual... but I got a great deal on another one so I just replaced it. ($40)
