CPU Flashing?

From what I have read only the 98-99 can be flash and the 97 and older can't. But, you can install a evo 8 ecu/cpu with some rewiring and you will be able to reflash.

That only applies to 4g63s.

On an N/a regular car there realy is no point the gains will be so minimal. I wouldnt even waste ## money unless ## are doing serious internal changes.

There is only the possibility to switch your ECU/CPU to a AF/X ECU by Howell Automotive.Or you go with Megasqirt, but this is another league.

there is actually more options, like the AEM standalone, but why would you do that when you get everything that can offer you with Megasquirt for a 1/3 of the cost.

As for the "wasting money" the af/x Ecu had a dyno of 10whp gain over stock just through the ecu. There is another recent thread discussing this. If you are wanting to tune your 420a it should NOT be a question of flashing an ecu, it should be a question of af/x vs megasquirt
