couple questions

Ok i just bought a 92 talon TSI awd. well i was wondering when exactly did they swith from 6 bolt to 7 bolt. mine was made in may. 2nd question, on my GSX the timing mark is very visible on the crank pully how come my talon has no such mark??? im having trouble time it becuase the T belt snapped as the guy drove it and thats why I bought it for so dam cheap becuase I knew i had work cut out for me. Ive basically got the head ready to pull i just wanna know how can I see a timing mark on crank pully and then how do I know if the valves are at TDC as well. I know about the 2 white marks on the cam gears but they can line up twice i think and be in oppisite oppenings. am I right about that??? sorry for the message being so long. I do know what im doing on a normal engine build but the T belt being broke and then no timing mark on crank pully kinda messing me up. thanks for any help guys...

Hello there, to clear a little bit up for you. The cam gears turn once for every 2 turns of the crank pulley. So once the cam gears are lined at TDC, the head is done with timing. For the crank side, since you are pulling the head off, once it is off, turn the crank until cylinder number one is at TDC, you should be able to find a timing mark after you get it that close. If you are replacing the valves yourself, be extra careful as to where you put all the parst from the valve train, including the cam shafts. Label everything when you have it sitting out.
