Cotter pin broken, can't get out.

The main method i use is to straighten the ends, then grab the "but end" with a pair of "end snips" )like wire cutters but the face opens instead of the side if that makes sense). Anyway, i grab it face on with end snips, then rock them to the side using the curved face as a fulcrum/leverage point, slowly pulling, then re-gripping to pull some more. This is the best way to get them out, but can end up cutting it off if you grip too hard or won't work if they are already broke off too short to grip.. Then that's when I'll cut the head off and pull from the other side with the "end snips" and if i break or nip those off i punch it out with a small nail or something.

Probably on the shifter. Shitty access, tiny little bastards. PB Blaster, cut-off nail, a nut on one side and the whole thing in Vise-Grips to press the damned things out. Don't try to get them all in one bite, use about three settings. Use the nail to press them into the center of the nut. Keep your fingers the hell out of the way. You can use a piece of cork to hold the nail in place.

That nail method is a good idea, and the cotter pin is for the wastegate arm. Thank y'all very much, I really appreciate it. I was getting pissed at this little thing. I'll update soon.
