Hi guys. I recently bought a used tranny comming from a totalled '95 gsx and I was going to use it on my '91 Talon. Once i had it installed I tried to replace the gearbox fluid and surprise!! some pieces of metal came out.
I was suspecting the center diff and I was right:
As you can see one of the washers is broken and the other one just dissapeared.
So I have few questions.
1- Is the '91 center diff compatible with that '95 gearbox? Can I just swap diffs?
2- Do I have to disassemble the whole gearbox to clean all the metal particles that could remain there right?
3- If i want to repair the bad diff, how do I know the right washer thickness I should use? I read the manual and It's pretty confusing, I don't get what it says.
Hope you guys can give me some advice.
