COP setup, do i need MSD?

Ordered a COP setup today, a couple sellers were saying that a MSD ignition is needed for the COP setup to be efficient. I was hoping the DSM community could shine some light on the matter and clear my head with the confusion. Thank you.

You don't need the MSD but it seems like COPs usually don't work too well on DSMs without an ignition amplifier like the MSD DIS-2 or Dynatek ARC-2. I run an MSD DIS-2 with my SparkTech COP and it works great. The Dynatek is plug and play if you buy the Eclipse harness and works incredibly well. Personally, I wouldn't run a COP without an ignition box.
