cooling fans bogg car down?

When the ac is turned on to turn on the cooling fans the car bogs down and acts funny. Also a clicking noise can be heard behind the drivers seat. Any ideas?

The AC system puts a significant amount of additional load on the motor. It's quite common to notice a drop in power when running AC.

Give us more details about the clicking. Under what conditions does it occur, etc? I'm not familiar with 1G electronics but maybe a bad relay.

You only hear the clicking hwen the a/c is on or it's been really hot out lately and you have just heard it lately while the a/c has been on..Could be the auto seatbelt relay..I've had that happen before..

Its a friends car and i'm not sure I've never heard it. But i will look at it when he stops by. I'm sorry for not mentioning it before.

I just met this guy over craigslist but hes the only friend i know with a dsm, so i thought i'd help him out. I told him maybe a wire is corroded and not making the best connection.

The ECU used the ISC to maintain the idle speed when you turn the AC on. If the ISC is bad, driven out of range, or had shorted coils in the past damaging the ECU the idle will drop when you hit the switch.

If the ECU doesn't know that the throttle is closed it won't try to manage the idle speed.
