coolant temp senor...

does anyone know where the wires on the coolant temp sensor are supposed to be plugged in at? there are 2 terminals on it and i was wondering what wires go to these since they were both disconnected and i have them both ready to plug in but i dont know which ones go where... any help is great, thanks!!

It does not matter Yellow/green trace on one and green/blue trace on the other connector.

alright thats easy enought. with having these disconnected, would that explain my idle surge that i get when i take it out of gear and coast through parking lots or up to a stop light? but when i park it does not surge anymore??

My old Eclipse was running with a disconnected coolant temp. sensor and I didn't have any idle surge. I didn't even know it was disconnected until later when my car would not start since it had cooled down.

oh.. do you have any sugguestions on what the surge is caused by? maybe my thermostat is toast?

well driving the car without coolant sensor pluged in,its not good.Because you will be having issues starting the car on a cold start.The ecu will read,the lowest temperature,so it will give more fuel on a cold starup.....

yeah i got the coolant temp sensor fixed and the check engine light went off. but i still have that surge when i take it out of gear and just coast. and the surge stops when i come to a dead stop like at a stop light. does anyone know why this might be?
