I have a question, maybe a bad idea, but if it is guide me in the right direction. I have a brand figgin new Big 16g on my car and when i got it there was a reeeaalll tiny bit of shaft play, i figured it was cause the turbo was dry, but now i had to take the oil pan off w/ the motor out and i noticed that there is milky oil comin out of the turbo oil hose. I figure it has to be coming from the turbo some seal being defective or somethin but i was wondering if i could just not run coolant to the turbo would that be bad news? or does anyone think that the problem may lie elsewhere

If you run that turbo without coolant for very long, I'm betting it goes byebye very quick.

Anyone here tried it?

not really, running coolant through turbos isnt necessary.

anywho, when you say "milky" do you mean there is some sort of discoloration, or that it is just frothy? its supposed to come out of there frothy; once oil hits that shaft when its going 100,000rpms it is turned in to basically foam.

shaft play is still bad though. is it back and forth or up and down, and how much?

You're saying not running coolant through a CHRA that was designed to be watercooled is OK for it?

I'm not disputing what you're saying, but do you know anyone who's tried this with any sort of success???

I mean, when I took the oilpan off, there was a puddle of whiteish sh*t in the part of the pan where the turbo return is...nowhere else

i would say there is maybe 1/64th of an inch of play up and down...just enough to feel but not enough to see really
