I'm having problems finding a home for one of my coolant lines off the oil filter housing. I'll give background info on the car first so hopefully it helps.
The block is a '98 as well as the oil filer housing. The water pipe is a '91 (has the nipple for one of the 2 oil cooler water lines). I installed a 1g head, JM SMIM and have the 1g thermostat housing. I am currently running a small 16g. I blocked off the coolant passage from the bottom of the block (as per RRE's web page) and am running the "U" shape off the coolant pipe. A/C was removed.
I've been looking all over and from what I can make out is the other coolant line off the oil filter housing goes to the thermostat housing. The problem is that there is a line off the turbo running to it. I have the plastic 2 prong piece for the AC on thermostate housing that is unused. Should I take that out and put in the line there? Thanks ahead for any insight.

Just thought I'd toss in a pic in case my explanation sucked

Are you saying you have an extra nipple? I have the water pipe going to the turbo, and the turbo going to the thermostat housing. Then I've got the oil cooler going from the first nipple on the water pipe, then coming up behind the turbo and going to where the plastic fitting on the thermostat housing was.

You may want to use a higher pressure line, that looks like vacuum line to me. I personally use Goodyear transmission cooler lines as they can bend 90*-180* without kinking. You should also put some clamps on both ends.

First nipple on the oil cooler is going to the water pipe, that's the one closest to the block. Now the farther one away is supposed to be ran to the thermostat housing correct? So I should take out that plastic piece and screw something so I can attach another line there?

As long as coolant has a place to flow through the lines, the exact nipples you connect them to don't really matter.

Yes, one nipple of your oil cooler is supposed to go from the water pipe to any of the thermostat nipples. I took out that plastic piece and put a nipple in there, but if all of your lines are connected so coolant could flow through them, then you can leave the plastic piece in there. If you need another nipple, remove the plastic plug and thread one in there.
