Well the other day on my way to work i was doin about 90 and my IC pipe came apart. I pulled over and got it back on, but as I was doing this some anti-freeze dripped on my hand. It was a very little amount. Say about 10-15 drops of it. The next day I took apart the piping and found anti-freeze stains in on of the elbows. It is the pipe that comes off the j-pipe and it gos down to the IC. I havnt found anymore fluid under the car or in the pipes since then. Can anyone tell me what happened and if I need to fix something.

How does the car run/idle?

I had that happen to me, and it was the throttle body FIAV gasket went out and I found coolient in my line, and the TB plate had turned green!! ><

Maybe the same problem? $6 for a new gasket.

well when i bought the car it had a decent idle but would stall sometimes after a decent rev. The FPR needed to be replaced. So i turned the idle up because I was learning to drive stick and the fpr was bad. After I turned the idle up it wouldnt stall after reving it. I just got the new FPR today and will be installing it on monday and im getting pretty good with driving stick. So once the fpr gos in i will turn the idle back down and see what happens. I will check out the throttle body FIAV gasket when I install the new FPR. Thx for the heads up.

i was afraid of that. a bunch of people said it was the headgasket, but I would have saw a lot more anti-freeze if it was the headgasket. Then one person mentioned the turbo besides you. I was hoping he was wrong but I think it is a good possibility. I guess it would give me a good excuse to buy a bigger turbo.

Turbo was my first thought, if it gets too bad one could bypass the coolent lines from the turbo as a CHEAP GHETTO FIX. but check out your turbo see if you have any shaft play also and give it a good look over, I'm sure there could be other issues causing it, but that would be the first place to look in my opinion. Is coolent making it into your oil?

I just did an oil change the other day and no coolant in the oil. I checked the turbo not to long ago and there is no shaft play. I have not removed the turbo yet to look over the whole thing, but I will make sure I do that soon.

all your problem is in the turbo housing thats is probably cracked in the coolant area and is mixing with the turbo in the cool side check the turbo o change it, this happen to me long time ago, and forget the head gasket ,you will have only leak in the exhaust side no the intake side

when I was putting the IC pipe back on, the coolant dripped on my hand. It was green and fresh. When I took the IC piping off the next day it was just like a black stain in the silicon elbow. I will post up some pics tommorow.

your turbo would have to be cracked from the coolant passage through to the compressor, other wise if the TB was leaking in any way the engines vacuum would have pulled it into the engine not pushed it down to the IC

On a side note. Would the IC pipe coming off while driving do any damage to anything else? It has come off a couple of times now.
