Spyder Coolant in cylinder 1

Last week my new baby (Spyder GS) over heated due to the water pump leaking coolant. So, I replaced the water pump and timing belt. While getting coolant some idiots at my school took the hose to the overflow tank and put it on the breather valve so, basically the house went from the thermostat housing to the valve cover. I noticed when I was half way through the gallon of antifreeze. I took it off and yelled at the kid. I kept on going with everything. I finish everything. And started up the car. There was white smoke coming out but it died down. I went to park the car and figure I do a oil change to get the coolant out. When I started the car up today there was alot of smoke coming out the tail pipe so I pushed it in instead. I did the oil change and went to start the car the car started but then stalled. This happen several time. I also wanted to do a compression test. That is when I noticed coolant in the cylinder. Could this be from that hose that was attach or can my headgasket/head be no good.

That would be a headgasket issue. All hooking it to the valve cover would do is put some coolant in your oil, and from what you said is it wasn't run like that so I doubt it even made it that far.

Fill it with coolant, pop the radiator cap off and crank the car. If water shoots out then you know it's a headgasket. Or do a leak down test.

I did that and coolant did flew out from the thermostat housing. So, I might as well swap to a dohc since I will be taking the head off.

I have a DOHC head here (1G) if you are interested. I bought it intending to do a DOHC swap, but I just don't care enough about the car to put the time into that. Someone did a writeup of all the parts you need to do it. I have linked to it before, so if you look in my post history you can find the link (only 24 posts, so it won't be hard to find)

Looks like you did the timing belt a little too soon.

Yup you need to put a new gasket in. Have fun doing it.

I already have all the parts for the swap. And yea I am pissed off about the timing belt.

I agree. You need to replace the head gasket and check the head for surface flatness.
