I've got a 97 Eagle Talon non turbo with front wheel drive.I baught this car in the US and shipped it over to Norway where I live.I thaught about buying a Tsi,but it would have costed me at least $12000 more to get it into Norway because of the engine.I've been looking for a long time for a non turbo AWD but seems impossible to find.
Anyway,my question is if anyone has converted their FWD to a AWD drive or know anything about it?My plan is to buy a TSI and send it to Norway, and then use the parts from the TSI on the one I've got here in Norway now.Do I have to use a 97/98 Tsi or can I also use a 95/96(any 2g Talon)?
Please be serious about this.

first off non turbo awd you might as well as buy a geo metro and ship it over there it will be just as fast make sure its a 3 cylinder to match the acceleration of a 2.0 or 1.8 nt talon awd. let me save you a lot of money don't do a non turbo awd, i have turbo awd and it took a lot of porting and polishing to keep up with a 2wd turbo

Any 2G AWD car will work. The only think to look out for is ABS, I am not sure how that is wired.

You have a long road ahead of you. It isn't easy to swap turbo FWD to AWD, you are going from NT to AWD.. even more work.

Essentially you will want to COMPLETELY gut the cars... inside and out. You will need to swap in the entire engine harness, dash, and all relating wires. If I were you, I would swap in the engine and get it running. At that point start working on the rear assy.

Just spend the extra for one the factory already did. Unless you can carve a whole car from a block of wood.

The only AWD NA I know of was the GTX which was an NA Galant in Canada. They didn't bother in southern North America. United States drivers are ungroomed, clueless orcs at the wheel, offerings of AWD are routinely passed-up in the showrooms. Over the product range, AWD DSMs were a very small portion of the total.

galant gsx is n/a and awd. they have them here in the U.S. i was looking in to buying one and putting a turbo on it.
