I've read every thread on this but I know that some of you might be able to help me
I just bought a 97 spyder. The staples in the bow started coming out and couldn't wash it until I got some help to staple them back in. Since basically every staple fell out except the ones on the very side I was confused. Your supposed to line up the chalk line with the top edge of the bow right? Then staple the top under the chalk line? Well I did that but the factory staples were on the chalk line itself.
So because I stapled further down then the factory stapled chalk line staples my passenger side doesn't want to close all the way. Like the top is too tight but since the staples on the passenger side are UNDER the chalk line shouldn't there be more slack? The drivers side comes closer and the staples are on the chalk line. Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I don't know much about soft tops yet.
Side note: The top is manual now because of the previous owner decided to snap all four screws off the motor that goes into the gear housing so it was only running on one motor and it didn't do much while doing that so i put it in manual mode.
