Control arms on upside down

My 92tsi awd bottomed out on the frame a lot on the rear control arms. I thought maybe because it was lowered.
I finally get a chance to look under it and the control arms appear on upside down.
The gentle curve in them is curved up toward the frame and not down away from it.
This is wrong correct?
Stupid shop even put them on and aligned them this way.

Yep. The curve should bent down in the middle.

shop that put them on wrong today looked at it and said that if they put them curve down it would hit the CV joint and tear it up??
Now it has aftermarket springs on it so it's a little lower but does this sound possible?
