We cant tell you! You have not told us enough information. Like which one front or rear upper or lower and there are two lower fronts. There is a recall on the front lateral arms.

As far as hard usually they are not too hard, but may require a torch and much time due to bolts rusting in to the control arm bushing.

front pasenger arm is sitting on the concrette . it has oil all over it and its the one that goes in the trans.

pics are uploaded.... im need to get this fixed asap over the weekened , i have classes all this week and no other ride.

OK well I don't see a control arm on the ground. I see a cv-axle. You need a new CV. Unless it is rusted to the hub it should be relatively easy to fix. But you are going to need some tools may even need an impact gun. If its rusted you may need a knuckle and hub as well.

This happpened to me about 2 years ago i bought both new lateral control arms and a axle for about 180. It took me about 4 hours to do it and my axle was stuck in the hub. I had a machine shop press it out and luckliy it didnt hurt the hub.

Wel my lower lateral arm popped out and there were recalled...but i was told since the cars are over 10 years old dealerships wont do anything

Yeah, I doubt the dealership will honor any sort of warranty or recall that's over a couple of years. You'll need to replace the CV axle and possibly the control arm if that's what caused it to dislodge. For it to fail like that, it seems likely that there is another factor.

None of it is difficult to replace with a good bit of muscle and some PB Blaster. Be sure to check for other things that might seem out of place, like the control arm being bent or the knuckle being out of whack. It would be a shame to replace it and have it happen again.

This thread is lawl, that's your AXLE not your contol arm. Coincidently though axles don't just pop out like that, you may have a control arm issue or a ball joint problem...

Nice algebra homework btw :p.

You're pics depict a broken axle that is not under recall. It is pretty easy to replace!
The control arm/balljoint issue happened to me twice in my 96gsx. It is very scary and thankfully i was only going 30mph. It is under recall at the dealer.

k well at first bc i dint know what i was doing or how hard it be to fix i sent it off to this guy to fix it but hes taking wayyyyy longer than expected.

is this a fix ill find pretty easy if i havent done it before?

im pretty smart , i just never really worked on cars besides my alternator and a boost leak problem .

im thinking it might just be faster to tow it home and do it myself .

This is a real easy fix and would give you some experience on working on other parts of your car. Even going extremely SLOW it shouldn't take more than a day to do it. I was able to replace my first one within 3 hours and now I have it down to 1 hour per side with smoke breaks in there. Just get a book if you don't have one and start tearing the wheel and components off of the hub and have at it.

it is gona take you about 3 hours with minimal tools and minimal knowledge. i would get it back especially since your gonna get raped on labor if he is charging you. its an easy. axles are also very inexpensive. i would check to see what kinda condition your motor mounts are in.....

I bet there's nothing wrong with any suspension pieces. It looks to me from the photos that the inner CV joint failed catastrophicly. The worm-type hose clamps are a tell-tale sign of the axle having previously been rebuilt by a chump without a proper kit.
I've never worked on a 2G, but on my 1G it's simple enough:
loosen axle nut
remove wheel
loosen balljoint nut
beat things with hammers
finnish removing the two nuts
remove axle
instalation is reverse of removal, but with-out hammers.
A new/rebuilt axle should be about $60 anywhere.

That's not a worm type hose clamp. That's an actually CV boot clamp. One you have to crimp.
