Sorry if i posted this on the wrong section, it seems DSMTUNERS has a section for everything now days :)

But i need help, I'm going crazy again just like when i was deciding what BOV to go for?(HKS SSQV or TYPE S) or when i decided what turbo (16g or 20g)

but now i came upon this, I did my taxes got my refund and its around 8k, well my wife is letting me spend 3k on my GST but i came upon this,

RARE!! 95 eclipse gsx awd turbo

Now, I want a GSX I can buy it right off the back and then sell my GST....or spend the 3k on my GST?

I was going for a complete Big evo 16g swap but with stock injectors and stock internals and fuel pump just trying to grab the Bolt ons like CAT-BACK and down pipe and FMIC and pretty much all bolt ons(don'y really want to go into details and brands) all this planned for my GST, but now that i came accross this GSX i want to buy it but i don't want to sell my GST and just rebuild her and do some heavy body work...to her...IDK what do you guys think?

Sounds like the AWD or FWD question. Spend on the gsx.

But make sure there are no major problems on that gsx or else that $2000 will just balloon up.

yeah i know sounds like a no brainer question like AWD or FWD....but idk i fell in love with my GST(nicki) and i just need ,more of a reason you know? l

I love awd. I have no use for fwd cars with power. You have to look into how much more it will cost to maintain a awd car. More moving parts, the more there is to break.

I do not however sit well with THAT car. Why is it all black remaned fenders, was it in a bad front end wreck? Is it strait? Is it quailty work? If you wreck it will you be subject to a higher risk of injury?

Those are all questions I'd be asking my self. :thumb:

EDIT: erm, different rms/ tires on a awd might be bad news. If there too different it will fry the viscous coupler, and if it was wrecked enough to need the rims replaced, pass.

you're advice is going to be well taken my friend:thumb:

I never really noticed that for a minute.....i did notice the the front end bing primered black but i just thought it was a 2gb conversion?.....but the rims speak alot.....

then again i can built my GST and put a big EVo III 16g, i'm gathering a 6 bolt in my back yard maybe if the 7 bolt in my gst gives in i can continue to swap the 6 bolt enjoy it and then maybe AWD swap in the near future or AWD swap first then 6 bolt?...its just i know my GST inside out now and got alot of plans...but man owning a DSM AWD would be nice....i guess i got to ask more questions before i go drive to L.A and check this GSX out or before i end up buying a salvaged GSX waiting to burn a hole in my pocket

Remember , he's selling it for a reason, and at that price, its a good one.

I would mod you gst for now, and start saving money for awd later. I would keep an eye out for a blown up awd 7bolt 2g to get you 6bolt 16g goodness somewhere in the future. awd is awesome though, I can whoop on a twin turbo 700hp NSX.... in the rain. :pROFL

My 2psi would be to just convert the GST to AWD and finish up the body work. You love the car keep it and make it AWD. I think 3k should be enough to do the swap and than some. No worries about if you brought a junker :thumb:

That would work too especially since you are attached to your gst. First upgrade I suggest for you is a tuning device.

$1200 crankwalker (2g awd w/ bad 7-bolt)
$500 6-bolt long block
$600 evo3 16g
$700 ecu solutiuon
$200 1g cas and adapter harness.
$100 for beer.

~$3500 you could be a happy camper. You'll need other stuff I'm sure but I thought seeign it spelled out might help the thought process.

well hey I'm 20 years old with two little girls (2 yr old and a 7 month)....married so thats why i got so much back in my refunds!!!

but im also not an idiot, I love my kids thats why i had to go through my wife first and see if i have a spending limit on my car and she said 3k...LOL....my kids have alot already i just hope my wife don't go crazy with the rest of the cash...LOL

the good think about extra cash after paying rent and bills on the first, thats just it, its extra cash and i'm still working so the money i make just adds on.....

Um... personally, i would just spend like maybe AT MOST 1g on the car. Keep yours, buy a few new toys for it, and set the money aside.

You have 2 kids, and your 20. Think about it. You have a family to provide for and take care of. What if you loose your job or things turn south?

Be smart with the money, save it or use it for more practical things for your family.

I would buy the GSX, swap the best parts into the GSX, spend rest of money on the maintainence to bring her back to life. Then have fun learning the magestic ways of.... DAAANNN DA DA DA!!!!! All..... Wheel....... GASP!!! DRIVE!!!

i agree and disagree..

Your family is important.. but man, that gsx isnt the cleanest thing, i bet you can find cleaner.. i think you should sell your gst and keep the 3500 + how ever much you sell yours for, and buy a nicer DSM =)

just my .02

Agree with others. Stay away from the GSX. Possible that the VCU is shot with Mixed up tires. If you want a Gsx do like stated above and sell the gst and put the money with that and buy a really nice 2gb Gsx.
Once you go awd there's no other way to have it. Its like

like i said before I'm not a selfish dad/husband, i always wanted to keep money saved, but like my wife said i deserved it, but i don't think so, i personally would just put it away, it will just disappear on little crap, trust me this ain't the first time we had alot of cash, and I work at HAAS seeing me jobless is probably not for another 3-4 years or so...depending if i screw up...LOL

but i feel and i thank you for the advice well appreciated brother!
