confused

My talon has been in the shop for a long time. Now it is finally close to being started. The mechanic working on it asked a question that completely confused me.On the stock setup there is a hose from the top of the turbo to the wastegate accuator. My question is, since i bought the sbr 20g turbo and fmic there is no place to connect the hose to the j pipe, Where does this hose connect to?

Run a line to connect the j-pipe to wastegate, the wastegate will use the j-pipe as a boost source. To regulate boost above what the wastegate is set to, cut the line in half and insert a boost controller in the middle.

I think what he is saying that their is no place to put the hose to the j-pipe..

is it an aftermarket j-pipe? if so what you do is tap it and put a nipple on it and connect the hose that way..

You will want to remove the J-pipe and drill a hole finishing with a 11/32 bit near the flange.

Once the hole is drilled you will want to tap it for an 1/8 NPT fitting with a nipple on the end.

When the fitting is installed you can grind off the excess of the fitting inside the pipe.

Re-install and you have your new boost source.
