Confused on volt gauge install

Ok so I know that the 12v goes into the cig lighter, but I have no idea where to tap into for the dash lights or the 12v positive post. I know this is probably a ridiculously easy problem to figure out but I'd rather ask and tap once instead of guess 5 times.

I hooked my 12v pick up at the battery. I always power my gauges off the socket for the lights in the cig lighter/ashtray so they dim when I dim the dash lights out.

so you just put em into the end tip where the plug hooks into the metal circle looking thing?

You can use the cig lighter for everything on the install I can't remember the colors but its not to hard to figure out, I think its the outermost wire for the 12v pickup, but just test the wires on the connectors to be sure. Good luck with the install!

Get a test light.
For my gauges I tapped into the wires on the hazard switch.
