Best place to tap for Volt Gauge

I'm going to be installing a volt gauge in a 1G talon. Where is the best place to tap for the source it will be reading? I've searched everywhere for about a half an hour, with little luck.

Anyone know? Any links to tech articles or anything? Thanks!

im unsure if you can tap into the ecu for the volts like i did on my afc, may be able to do the same thing with the gauge. has any one else done this before. im also intrested.

Any power wire in the car that is on with ignition should work completely fine. Some people have removed their lighters and used the power wire from that and then dremel'd out the hole so the gauge actually sits in there. Other than that, any 12v power wire will work fine. (the one for your stereo, etc.)

Any 12V? I believe you but I always thought those 12V supplies were regulated in some other way besides the alternator. The alternator often puts out 14V. So in actuality the lighter and stereo are probably seeing 14V while the car is running?

Ok, ok, you caught me. Yes, they can often see more than 12V, but the entire electrical system of an automobile is usually referred to as a 12V system. But you are correct, they often see more than that. (And less at times as well)
