I just completed my head gasket change on my car, installed a bunch of new crap on the motor, but anyways. After I started it up I had the little breather filter on the side of the valve cover, it had smoke coming out of it, I had done the filter thing on my 2g i had and it didn't smoke. I took the car for a drive to log the settings on my MAFT the car was smoking like it was on fire.

I thought holy crap, my HG didn't seal up, so i went and bought a compression tester, ran the test, this is what i got as you are looking at the engine bay

80 psi, 135psi, 145psi, 73psi

The new plugs that i installed prior to starting looked good upon pulling them out. There was no oil on them as if the HG was leaking. Engine is dry too. No oil in coolant.

Could improper timing cause this compression to be wrong because when i try to start the car, it turns over slow as if it is out of time a tad. If so, shouldn't all of the cylinders be closer then what they are even if they are out of time?

Someone help before i drive this f'ng car off a cliff

there are a number of possibilities, none of which are very good .... the serviceable limit on these motors is 120 psi in each cylinder ..... so you definately have issues there ...... the smoke out of the the breather means you are definately getting blow by ... and by the compression results, a heck of alot of blow by at that ..... this is not a good thing ..... first thing i would do is do a wet compression test to see what happens when the rings seal up a bit ..... if you have significant increases in compression (30 psi +) then you need new rings ....

I would first check your compression numbers again, and do a wet test to test the rings .... a leakdown would tell the tale even better to see where you are loosing the compression ....

good luck .....
