compression test results and questions

178, 181, 178, 178
also did a leak down test and the results were basically the same. not sure if I used enough oil though. 2-3ml, is that enough? the book said to only add a couple of drops.
Question. How much does carbon on the pistons effect the results? those are good numbers for a 93, right?

Those actually look vey good. It's when you start having 150 or less that you should be pretty worried. Unfortunately, my 90 N/T numbers didn't come back so good, in the same order as you : 180, 145, 60, 105 :thumbdown And the DSMs never fail.... to keep taking my money

About a half-teaspoon.

With modern gas formulations, very little carbon accumulates. You could run some water through it to clean whatever's in there out.

nope shes got almost 100,000 on her only things been rebuilt is the tranny , i drive her like an animal too

Checked mine a few weeks ago the N/t that si and it was 210 220 230 220. I checked it more than once cause I couldn't believe my little 96 NA with 75k miles had that much compression. Oh yeah what do you all think of the miles? pretty low for an 8 yr old car huh?

Damn some of you guys have great compression for the miles you have. When I bought my car last year with only 37K on the odo. I checked the compression and it was 161-168-173-175

I'm gonna check it again soon and see how all my modding has effected it.

that is not to good. you may have some carbon build up that you should get rid of. look for a thread about it, doug gave some good tips to get it out. it wasnt too long ago.

mine is 200-210-200-200 @ 73k miles

Immortal should have lower compression b/c he's running a turbo car. I dont know the exact specs of what the 2g turbo car is. but i know that on the 4g63 N/t is suppose to be like approx 192 in all 4 cylinders, thats what the books say

I know but I will only boost like 4 pounds. They aren't 100% shot yet It will be in the rebuild after a week or two anyway. Just want to see how it goes
