Well I did a compression test yesterday and this is what i got: 145,155,160,155 with 150k miles. I've seen much worse but deff not as good as I hoped. My clutch is also slipping, I have a crack in my windshield, and need new cv joints. I am wondering what option i should go with.

A. rebuild engine(ARP hardware, 4layer mitsu head gasket, gaskets/seals/bearings, forged pistons8.5/rods, remove balance shafts, lightened pullys, titanium springs/retainers, hks272's, cam gears), 720cc's, 2nd gen ex. mani, downpipe, act2600/flywheel, findanza cv shafts, windshield.

B. buy a lower mileage, in good shape 1st gen(6/4) for about 3k, and transfer my stuff to it and get a new act2600 for it.

C. just get a new clutch and cv joints, and save for an Evo downpayment.

what are you talking about thats pretty damn good compression...

replace your clutch with act 2600 and resurfaced flywheel... windshield is like 100-150$ and get new cv joints, they arnt that expensive...

then sell for a downpayment on a EVO... u will be much happier with the EVO

145 sounds good compression im not an expert mechanic but my compressio nwas 207 207 211 212 and to me thats ****ing great since i jsut rebuilt the engine maybe i didnt it worng im not sure but i ws told that my motor was ver ver yhealthy

yeh 1g my roomamte may have done it wrong but the range is supposed to be 150 to 225 right or i maybe i am ver ywrong

yea, your a little off. Perfect compression is 165 across the board. Service level is 121, and i believe you would like all cylinders between 10-15% of each other but im not sure on that..

yeah... you're compression isn't bad, granted its not the best, but you said it yourself the motor is 150k old, you should be able to have some fun with it.

But if you think it represents too much work for you down the road, fix those few things, put a "for sale" sign on, go race a bunch of car you think you can beat, and maybe from that croud someone will be like: OMG did you see that eclipse... I wonder how much he wants for it, and there you go you got yourself a sale... then get the evo.

Have fun.

Im leaning toward a fix-up/rebuild

There's no reason for you to mess with the internals. Your compression is GREAT for that old of a car with that many miles. Save yourself a crap load of money and leave the block alone. Fix your windhsield, cv joins and clutch. Then start going through the upgrade steps. Since according to your profile you don't have an exhaust, a full 3" will be a good place to start.
