To make the story short 90 eclipse gsx broken timing belt. So I rebuilt another motor because pistons were torn up. I put new rings and bearings into it and a rebuilt head. Within 50 miles of rebuilt put a hole in my oil pan from a huge pot hole. About a block and a half from my house didnt realize it until I got home. Shut it off new oil pan more motor oil started it up ran for about 5 minutes oil pump seized. New oil pump everything put back together ran a compression test on the still 50 mile motor to make sure it didnt hurt the head. front cam wheels 90 120 120 120 i now have about 150 milles on the car and it runs fine but when should I expect the compression to come up if at all. I was wondering because if it doesn't someone else will own it.

You need to replace the oil pump. (if you have not yet)

Pull the oil pan and check your bearing to make sure they are not overheated or showing signs of stress/overheating/melting.

Do the comp test again with the coolant cap off, all spark plugs pulled. With someone cranking the motor over at the same time holding the throttle open.

Tell me if there are any bubbles in coolant where cap is, you can hear hissing from any where, or if the results got better or worse.

If they did not get better or when you are done dump a cap of oil into all of them, crank the car for a few secs and then do comp test again. They should go up if they do it is your piston rings, if not it is valve seals.

Also how did you break motor in? and did you hone out the piston walls, and checked all clearances before motor assembly.

Did you use a new oil pump in the beginning?

Do not bump your thread again.

I would say by 1000 miles you should have the compression you are looking for. Mine didn't get checked till around then so that is why I would say that high.

a block with no oil shouldn't hurt your head, or any other part of you motor for that matter. your compression should come up after a few hundred to a thousand miles. and slowly climb even still for about 5k probably wont go any higher after 5k.

Please use proper caps when posting in tech sections.

Good post except for the valve seal part, valve seals are not a part of your combustion chamber and will have no effect on compression numbers.
