I have a problem and need a solution to sort of reduce/temporaly fix it.

Problem is that I'm having an issue of venting my blow off valve into the atmosphere causing my engine to deprive of air. I know if I want this I should get a GM maf and maf Translator but, its not something that I want to mod onto my car yet, since this car is just a ordinary drive around the block car. However I would like an alternative solution that may help reduce the chances of killing the engine if I decide to rev past 6k.

I currently have a Greedy Type RS blow of valve. This one is great but it doesnt give me that great of an impression since I cant adjust it to super soft because it will release too much air out of the intake pipe. And if I put it too hard than I barely could hear the sound, its not a high squeek sound but more of a rough hard swoosh sounds that doesnt fit my taste.

I was thinking of going with either one of these following 2 blow off valve.
Forge Blow Off Valve - seen vid mostly on gti, saab, audi, and passat
Tail Blow Off Valve - seen vid mostly on subaru, volvo, jetta

However I have no experince with either of these two kinds of blow off valve, but been watching vids of each and looks pretty great and didnt hear much of engine stalling or dieing from people whom use them.

Reason I choose these 2 is the way how the valve open and closes as the compressioin compress and decompress. Any thoughts on these 2 blow off valve would be much appreciated.

Why not just recirculate the RS?

That seems like the simple solution.

cant believe this is still being asked day in and day out. Recirc it, the car drives much better. I run speed density on my car and still recirc.

I could but the RS barely make a sound at all. I need alittle sound and performance as well. Did some researching and found that the Forge BOV and Tail BOV is a better solution than the Greedy one, since the Forge BOV has 2 piston spring that allows for better venting.

It doesn't matter, SINCE YOU SHOULDN'T BE VENTING IT ANYWAYS.

The RS is just fine. You don't want it all the way soft, you want it tight enough to hold your maximum boost pressure.

Buy a recirculation piece for the RS if you don't have one.
Buy a piece of hose to recirculate, and recirculate it.

I mainly wanted a bov that I wont have to tinker around with, thats mainly why I was looking into the Forge BOV one, since the spring are premeasure to hold the boost, and since my car isnt tune, thats what I was aiming for till I find a tuner to tune my Power FC, dont feel like buying a new ecu one or a piggy back system. So was thinking of the Forge BOV since it comes with 3 premeasure spring that i can swap in and out, since I dont know how much boost Im putting into my car atm. So by having a stronger resistance spring in the bov, it wont allow alot of air to vent out but still make a decent sound that noticeable. This car is mainly a casual car till i can get a secondary car then i will be able to work on this one.

:ohdamn: Why would you need sound? Either recirculated like it's supposed to be or don't vent your BOV to the atmosphere unless you're running a MAFT or standalone engine managament system, unless you simply just don't care about your car's performance.

Atm I dont really care since its winter up here in MN, so I just wanted some fun out of it, since I'll be driving it all year round.

Buy a recirculation piece and adjust your bov accordingly. You don't need a new bov. Do things the right way.

I dont know how much boost Im putting into my car atm.

Buy a boost gauge asap, Prosport has them for like $37.

People search for a certain sounds on exhaust on their cars as well so please don't flame him for asking about a certain sound he wants with a BOV. I still have stock bov but with the aftermarket ones i've seen and heard I like Tial the most. Also, if you want your BOV louder, you need hard intake pipes. They help alot getting that sound you are after.
And like they are saying I would also recirculate.

Yes, I know what people here are saying but atm I just dont have time to tinker around with my car, I'll do that during spring time, and I'll be getting GM maf + maf Translator for my car. But I'm not to sure nor confident of the GM maf if it will work for my car. Also I do have the gauges for boost but like I said, its the boost controller that seem innaccurate atm, since the Boost gauge show psi increment of 5 up to 30, and my boost controller only show a percentage of how much boost I'm putting in.

Im using at Greedy Boost Gauge with a Greddy Boost Controller VR2 the one that doesnt have the knobs for adjust, but rather a percentage based of increment.

Heres what I got for my setup:
Greddy TD05 18G Turbo
Greddy 18R Intercooler kit
Greddy ProFec B Spec 2 Boost Controller
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy Type RS BOV
Greddy Boost Gauge
Greddy Oil Pressue Gauge
Greddy Exhuast Gas Temp Gauge
OEM Forge Exhuast manifold
Apexi Power FC ECU
RC 660 Injectors
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator with Gauge A1000-6 AFPR
Aeromotive High Flow Fuel Rail
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Magnecore 10 mm Spark Plug Wires
Denso Spark Plugs
Apexi 3.5 G1 Full System Exhuast
Apexi 3.5 G1 Cat Back System
ACT Stage 2 Clutch
ACT Street Disc Flywheel
Konin 18 Wheel
Good Year All Year Round Tires

Since it's on here, is there a "cheap and easy way to recirculate the RS"? Just got this car and kind of clueless right now, sorry. Can I just run a hose or something to do it? Any kind of pictures. I know where it should go on the air intake, but where the heck am I supposed to hook up on the BOV? It's just got the screw on the top and blue thing on the side?

MM look at the engine bay pics of our cars, there are lots of mbc install threads, including the greddy rs. That would be the next choice is to look around, you will find lots of information as you learn about your car and set ups.

recir'd 1g bov+hard intake+intake filter=what you are looking for. all the sound, yet none of the pain of venting.
