Alright. I have my head off, working on cleaning up and polishing ports. I'm working on the combustion chamber right now, and it looks like someone has attempted to grind some of the caster before me. I don't know if he pressed too hard, slipped, or what, but there seems to be some questionable pitting. My question, is this head toast? How much pitting is too much? If I take that area down smooth, I'm going to be taking off a little bit of material. I need a bit more of an expert opinion. Thanks guys.

Looks like detonation to me. Polish it as cleanly as you can without taking too much material off. Past that, repair welding and refinishing needs to be done, but honestly with a little polishing I wouldn't be to worried about it.

Just smooth out the sharp edges you'll be fine.

Well, thanks for the help guys. It seems to be cleaning up ok. Almost done with this chamber, need to polish it up a bit more
