cleaning my combustion chamber

my car has quite a bit of miles on it 125000 so i thougth that it would need a good internal cleaning is there any way i can clean the internals with out taking the head off. perferably somthing that come in a bottle at autozone.
 
I would use Sea Foam. You can put some in the fuel, and if you are careful, can put it through a vacuum port for an added effect. Careful. A little goes a long way.

Sea Foam is definately your weapon of choise here. I run some through the vacuum line leading to my boost gauge, and I pour some into my oil and let it run at about 2k for under a minute or so. Obviously, you'll have to change your oil, but it's worth it for the effect Sea Foam has.


P.S.... make sure you do it somewhere open and, if you're lucky, somewhere where the wind is blowing.
 
As referenced from your p.m.

Find a vacuum port you can tap into. Hook a 2 foot piece of vacuum line to your vacuum port. Make it a small one. Take the other end and put it in the can of Sea Foam. Before you put the vacuum line into the Sea Foam, start the engine and have someone hold it off idle as it's going to stumble when the Sea Foam hits it. With the engine running, put the vacuum line into the Sea Foam. If the engine tries to die, remove the vacuum line so the engine can stabilize. Keep doing this until you are satisfied you have removed enough carbon. You can pull spark plugs and look down in the hole with a light. If the pistons are clean, you done your job.

Just be careful ok? And, yes, do it outside. Do not under any circumstances do this inside as you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I have read on the can that you can put it in the fuel but with the way that DSMs are picky, I just poured a little down into each cylinder and let it soak for a couple hours. I then used a shopvac to get all the excess liquid out and started it up. I don't know if I did it wrong or not, but I didn't get any smoke out of mine. I was a little disappointed.

You should do what Old Mitsu Tech suggested above, but do it quickly, then shut the engine off and let it sit for a bit. Plus, you can do what ADrewzki did for a very complete clean. The shop vac isn't so much for the liquid as much as the carbon and other crap that the seafoam will dislodge.

One important thing to remember is to let it sit for a while. Then start 'er up and you will get lots of smoke if your engine is(was) dirty. Drive the car hard until all the smoke is gone. Do this part at night if you will get trouble from your neighbors/cops :D

Change the oil asap.
 
Could low compression on one of the cylinders be caused by carbon build up? I am not by my car becuase i am in school now, but when i checked the compression i was low on number 3 or 4. i did not do a wet test yet to check the rings, but could this be caused by carbon build up? if so this could fix this problem correct? I know low compression could be caused by a few different things, i am just curious if this could be another thing to cause this.
 
Another to get it out of the combustion chamber if you let it sit is to pull the plugs and wires, then put a rag over the holes and crank the car. Probably would be a good idea to disable fuel as well, by pulling the mpi fuse. It should shoot it right up on the rag. Just a tip in case the shop vac doesn't get it all.
