no dealers within my area have a stock gasket so i went to autozone and they only had a felpro gasket. should i just use it or wait a few days and get a oem gasket. ohhh btw i cant use my old gasket since i did a 1g head swap on my 2g.

You will be fine. That is all I have ever used for intake and exhaust gaskets. Just make sure to coppercoat it before you torque it down.

If it will make you feel better, run an OEM gasket. I personally use a Fel-pro gasket and haven't had any problems with it.

IMHO, I wouldnt use the felpro. Since you have a magnus smim, I would assume that you plan to run over 25psi boost. Generally, the paper felpro doesnt hold up to high boost at all. I even ren one and it gave up after a few months of 25 psi daily. I now only use a layer of permatex ultra gray rtv instead of a gasket. This has proven to hold well at 30+ psi of boost on my car.

yea i got oem so im sure thatll hold better than felpro. i ended up getting an oem gasket for the throttle body to manifold but that was that paperish gasket. thinking about gettin my stock one and just dremeling it to fit the 1g size.

Permatex eh?

Yea, the ultra gray. It is designed for high pressure and high torque applications.

My magnus was held on with the good ol gasket maker too and pressure tested to 35 psi with no problems. My whole motor had three gaskets on it. Head, front cover and exhaust manifold other then that everything was gasket maker. (well the valve cover had one too but thats it). Everything was gasket maker, the intake, thermostat housing, all exhaust components etc etc, everything!

main seals, front cover, oil pump, ect. Im sure you have a gasket for or you motor would be leaking like a sieve... and you used RTV on exhaust components?!

I have had no problems with the Fel-Pro gaskets I used on my JM Fab manifold and pheolic spacer. I ran them over 35 psi. I blew a Copper head gasket but never the intake gaskets. I used to only use factory gaskets, but the pheolic spacer was so slick I felt the metal gasket wouldn't seal properly. I love Permatex Ultra Grey and I have used it almost everywhere else, but never for that. Never let anyone to convince you to use aviation glue anywhere, it is the stickiest, nastiest stuff i ever tried and is a m/f to clean off.

You can see the massive blowby I had. I inspected the intake gaskets and seen no signs of any leaks.
