Colt 6 Bolt FWD Trans In 2G 7 Bolt

I got a great deal on a Shep Stage 2 FWD trans but was wondering what would need to be done for it to work in my 2g. From the research I have done so far I understand the mounts on the Colt transmission would be different. The transmission came from a 6 bolt fwd Colt and my car is a 7 bolt 2g fwd. Here is a list of the transmission specs that I do have.

In case anyone else was curious if this would work, this is the response I have from TMZ...

The case is physically different for the front and rear mount locations between the 6bolt and 7bolt platforms. You would need to find out which Quaife front differential is installed, and which trans case it is in at a minimum. Just because it came out of a Colt doesn't mean it was originally a Colt transmission.

If it is in fact a DSM F5M33 turbo FWD 6-bolt/1G style transmission case and shift linkage, you will essentially need the following:
*Your transmission case from the 2G
--Your 2G shift selector assembly in the transmission has a different shift cable lever and if it is an early version FWD transmission (with the 90 shift rails), you will need to change out the shift selector and cage from the 6bolt trans with your 2G shift lever and use the matching 6bolt trans shift rails when you swap the gearset.
--Your 2G gearset could have a different gear profile which results in needing to change the output pinion shaft, intermediate shaft cluster and input shaft cluster gearset (essentially swapping all the guts over to your transmission case)
--The Quaife differential needs to be a QDH7B (92-99 FWD version) with 27-spline axle stubs to fit your 2G axles. If it is a Quaife QDH8B (AWD DSM version) with 25-spline axle stubs, you are going to need to sell it and get the proper QDH7B differential.

Still, from the sounds of it, I am sort of expecting it to be a 1990.6-1992.6 F5M33-2-SPZV transmission with the later version gearset as it was better than the 1989.3-1990.5 gearset due to gear design and parts availability.

If it is in fact a SPZV transmission assembly, shift rails, forks, gearset with a Quaife QDH7B differential, then you will simply take all the guts out of the 1g transmission case and install it into your 2G transmission case. The 2G bellhousing assembly with shift selector assembly will be used, the 2G gear cluster case will be used so you have the proper passenger side motor mount, and you can use either 5th gear cover.

Either way, it is still going to be cheaper to pick this one up than to build it this way anymore, so worst-case scenario it is an early version gearset with a Quaife QDH8B AWD 25-spline differential, just sell the Quaife AWD diff and purchase a Quaife QDH7B differential / bearings / speedo gear and you are still going to be better off cost-wise realistically.
