I concur with mavisky. I think that an interior should be black. The only other colors I would even think about accenting with would be a nice tan or a charcoal. I have a couple pieces painted with the duplicolor charcoal metallic, absolutely beautiful.

wtf dudes? ive driven turbos, seriously, life doesnt relvove aroun d turbos, the so-so performance gain they give you doesnt justify the high price of them

"so-so perf gains" ????? must have been a weak ass turbo.

back on topic though, i think a silver/grey with red accents would look good. especially if you want to get away from black. someone above posted that too many bright colors look goofy, and i agree. if you do some bright red, use something dark to offset it (black / grey)

or, try maroon. that'd be interesting, red & maroon. weird

Here is my interior, all black except for 1 red seat. The only reason I got that seat in that color was because my friend sold it to me for a sweet price. The armrests and door inserts were reupholstered in black faux suede by your's truely. The inner door handle is sprayed metallic charcoal. Everything else is black. Red seat on black interior.

Did I ever say that I *_love_* your car?

Both the exterior paint and the highlight of that seat simply rocks. Very tasteful, too. :thumb:

I don't have enough dough to shell-out for a BRIDE seat just yet, but I'd love to learn of a good source for faux-suede material. I'm planning to re-do the headliner of my newly acquired (from a fellow DSMer) Talon TSi, and that would match my MOMO shift boot and e-brake boot very, very nicely.

Any help, including installation/working tips, would be greatly appreciated! OMG

I agree on the turbo comment. (my new one coming in the mail would beg to differ) :p

But as I said before, minor red accents here and there would look good. However, silver would look killer. Although you wouldn't want to overdo the silver either. Look at the stock RSX dash, I love it.

hey, i live on an island where the top speed limit is 45 mph. also the longest road is 10 miles, so turbo performance speed arn't a big priority to me. also, don't be trashing people for their tastes just because you don't have the skill to paint your interior.

I hope that wasn't directed at me. I'm very confident in my interior/exterior painting skills... and many will agree.

anyways, i agree with ClevSilverEclip, i'd love a good source for faux suede. I checked locally for a nice quality suede, and i'm looking at about $45-$55/yd. granted its nice, but more than i wanted to spend.... at least for now.

Yeah devlish.. you're paint jobs suck big floppy donkey schlong...

You know I'm j/k, your interior/custom stuff is awesome!
The key is being subtle (sp?), accents are the way to go, silver would look nice with black, so would red... but minimal.

damnit, i hate floppy donkey schlongs... what a PITA!!

anyways, thanks for the compliments. i'm redoing a little of the stuff now, and i've decided to keep the black/red, but for my 2nd set of kicks, i'm going to wrap them in black heat-formable vinyl. should be just the right touch for that area. just to bring some "stock-ness" look back to the lowerfrontal area. can't wait til it's done. vinyl looks very classy IMO if done properly (which hopefully i can accomplish!)

Here's a pic of my mostly black with silver accents interior. Nevermind the red belts, I'm trying to find a good way to dye them soon to black as well. Also, let's not get off-topic on the "harnesses attached to the strut bar" subject, that has already been discussed on about 4 different boards.

Dude, why do you have your harnesses attatched to the strut bar? LOL
I'd like to see them after you dye them, hope it comes out sweet. A lot of people when painting the interior will paint all the other pieces except the ones you did. If I paint my stock pieces I'll probably just do something similar to yours, if I decide to step it up to fiberglass.... I'll probably do the pieces Oriental Blue (the color I want my exterior) with silver accents.
I really like your car, love blue Talons....

I like the idea of using burnt orange, but by no means should the whole interior be that color. I'd use a cream color, and just throw a few burnt orange accents on it. i.e., seat inserts, door parts like the armrest, shift boot, etc. dark blue + cream = pimp, and the orange would set off the blue.

oh, and friday harbor's awesome.. i've got a bunch of family that lives on lopez island.. good ass shrimp/crabs/salmon out there :)

is that a stock seat with cutouts for the shoulder harnesses?? friggen sweet!

i had my stock seats reupholstered a while back, and there is a seam right at shoulder height, that i had left open and had a loop of fabric sewn into that seam. when i used my harnesses, i could put them through the loop to hold in place, but when i take out the harness, the loop tucked back inside the seam and looked TOTALLY stock. the lady that did my seats came up with that idea. (don't mean to highjack this trhead, but i can get pics if anyone is interested in that setup PM me, the seats are for sale BTW)

Not at all Devlish. You are the man. You are my moding idol, really. That was directed at those guys for all that playground crap. I'm talking about doing something like what 1gp0wer did. I'm not going to do an completly orange interior, just some nice accents. The one thing I'm considering though is orange carpet. Seems like a little to much to me, but I really need new carpet anyway. What do you all think?

no harm done. either way, some like it, some don't. to each his own.

sounds like a good interior option for you. light accents is the way to go!

If you want obnoxious, go for the ever-popular lamborghini orange, hideous WRX pale yellow, or the FAST AND FURIOUS lime green.
Terrible combinations you should never do:
Yellow and purple. Blue and orange. Blue and Yellow.

Classy combinations: dark green, black, or white with tan interior, blue with black interior, red/black, red/grey, etc.

in my opinion the interior of the car and the exterior of the car should be distinctly different, as in, don't paint interior pieces to match the exterior unless theyre black. Otherwise it looks trashy. real trashy.

couldn't of said it better myself, that's why I don't mind my black/red

it's all about contrast. but it should be subtle. IMHO
