So today when I was just about to leave for school, I found my self unable to unlock the door. Although the key would slide in, it would only turn left to lock.... And I knew the door was stuck... Again. So I tried the passenger side. Door unlocked, but the door was just as stubborn as the driver side. I really thought I was about to rip off the door handle haha. Soo, I had to get inside my car through the life gate. Turns out the lock itself was frozen on the driver side and I really needed to put my whole body to the door to open it. Not an easy start for today...

Anyway, does anyone else usually have the same difficulties?

What can help prevent this aside from parking indoors?

My passenger side does that when its cold out. The only fix I can think of is replace the lock assy. Its a bi*** to get out and back into the door.

I've cleaned mine, lithium greased it, everything and it still does it.

Also, I noticed that if I push the door in with my knee and then pull the handle up it opens almost every time.

Your doors and locks froze shut... just buy a can of heat and keep it with you. You can spray it inside the lock and around the door jam to unfreeze it.

happens to mine too. not a huge problem if i give it a little wiggle to lock it then clock wise to unlock it it typically works without much hassle.

any de-icer should help. ive used brakleen to fix frozen parts before, just watch your paint.

Haha mine does this when I go to leave for work. Always seems to be the days that im cutting it close and almost late ;)

My driver door lock is hard to lock or unlock? can't remember which, never usually bother to lock my car. But I can always turn it CW? To the right but i have to wiggle the key up and and fiddle with it to lock/unlock it. My door opens easy peasy everytime cold or warm out. What's up with that? I have two keys for this car both turn and start it and both do the same thing with the lock. Does it just need lubing? Also the first time I ever locked the car with the key by the door I had a green light in my dash come on that said security. I was like cool it has anti-theft equipped, but I haven't next time I locked the doors same way it didn't come on and hasn't since then. Anyone know why that might be?

My GSX has this feature, too! I love it! I use the keyless entry all the time, and it hasn't failed yet. Opens every time! Also makes it harder to get in/get out.

It's also pretty annoying to get into because it also has a short delay timer if you dont open the door and put the key in the ignition. They did the same thing with the radio, too. Basically, its an annoying car to steal or deal with for rookie thieves.

Awesome so now I know i have keyless entry. I think this car actually was a top line model due to power everything, sunroof, keyless entry, cruise, leather interior, power driver seat. Which is awesome for since I only paid 520 for the car. Swapped engine out of my wreck into it and everything has been working working great. Besides the missing foglights LOL. But now is my question. I have two keys and both work. I don't think I ever made a spare for this ccar and remember the guy only giving me a metal key. But the the other key i have that works has a plastic piece? The metal key doesn't look like the spares I had for my other eclipse or talon. Anyone ever used a key for a different car and have it work? Also with keyless entry I didn't get a remote with the car? Do I need to take it to the dealer to program one for me? I don't want to install a different security system.

Just be careful not to rip the door handle off. It happened to me and it was a pain to replace.

^^^ I did this once because my door was sticking a little bit due to a bad bottom hinge breaking off the body making the door hang. Around an hour before i welded my door to fix the problem I broke my damn door handle.:banghead: So i go online and order a handle and for the next 4-5 days I'm climbing in through my passenger door or opening from pass side and walking around or leaving the window down to get in. Okay like 7th night of driving my car, about 5 days after breaking my door handle, I wreck my car. Tire blew out when I went off the road a lil bit and got back on. Going 80 mph slide off the highway, hit a ditch, roll over twice, slide on the roof about 300 ft and stop upside down. Next morning my brand new replacement door handle arrives. :ohdamn: Fn irony man LOL
