coilover kit?

Alright guys im new here so take it easy on me. I dont have alot of money so i went on ebay to find a coilover kit for my car. And i found one pretty cheap but my question is. Do i need aftermarket shocks to put the kit on? The reason i ask this is beacause my friend bought a set for his car and the front springs were way to small

After market shocks are going to be the same size as stock shocks (or very close). If the springs wouldn't fit over his stock shocks, then they sent him the wrong parts. I would recommend saving up for good stuff, but if you want to buy something a little cheaper, atleast stick with a brand you have heard of, such as Matrix or Dropzone.

dont buy the dropzone setup their spring rate on all the setups are weak
