I Was At The Nopi Show In Ohio This Past Weekend And I Noticed A Few 2g Turbo Dsm's With No Coil Packs And They Had Like A Chrome Plate On Their Valve Cover With like 4 plug Pieces On It Which I Believe Replaces The Coil Pack...what Is That Exactly And Where Can I Get 1?

Probably either a coil over plug type ignition or an aftermarket one that you couldn't see. Like MSD.

This can't be a serious question from a 2 yr registered member, can it? With all the COP threads that there have been in the past 2 years, including an active one now. I assume this is what you saw?

yes thats what i saw and i didnt type like that...thats just how it showed up when i posted the thread... nice talkin to ya tho :thumb:

so would i be buying the 1g or 2g coil? i have the 98 ecu with a 94 motor...?

you do know that the 94 motor is still a 7 bolt right?

anyway, I believe the COP setup is a whole different setup in itself, not involving a coilpack from either generations
LOL yes i know its still a 7 bolt... the car was "hot" and the motor was free ...thats the only reason i got it

I was at the nopi show as well and saw the COP setup. This is probably a stupid question but does it have any real benefit other than if you have an intake manifold that doesn't have the bracket for the coil you can just hook up the wires?

More juice to the plug, for less plug blowout @ high boost levels.
That's the idea, but I'm not convinced yet that most of the CoP setups are actually delivering a measurable improvement in spark energy over the factory coils and good wires.
