code 0044 ignition circuit malfunction

This issue is driving me crazy. After a boost leak test, cyl psi test, and zip-tying everyting i went out on a cruise and my sputter is still present. when i came to a stop the engine threw a cel 0044 code ignition circuit malfunction while it missed and chugged. I shut the car down check spark plug wires and everything else related to the ignition on the side of the road. i made it home with no more spuuters at cruise, but every time i hit a light and reved up the check engine light would come on. PLEASE if any has had this issue help me. It is relly getting the best of me and i cant stand it.

Sounds like your throttle position sensor. But if its saying something with the ignition, test everything. Test your coil, ptu, spark plug cables, and look and your ignition timing to make sure it's in spec.

Also one other thing... The tach would start droping (looked like it was shorting out) when the misses would start happening.

Sounds like a bad coil then because if I'm correct, I think the connection for the tach is in the coil wiring. I could be wrong though. I'm still learning things
