Hi i was wanting to buy a new clutch for my 97 GST but i dont want to have to change out tranny or mod it in any way i just want a good one that will work in the old houseing
the cars clutch works fine but its hard to push in and it grinds some times so i think its getting time for a new one which on my n/t i had the same problem then it went out so i got a new clutch costing me $700 dam dollars  but its ez as pie to switch gears now so i figerd if i need to get the synro fixed in my gst i might as well have them change clucth while there at it to save on $$. so if you guys could post a ebay link to a clutch that will work on my gst thats not to high $$ that would be great.

I'd try adjusting your clutch pedal first. Get under the dash by the master cylinder and turn the rod, and see if it makes any difference. And Spec clutches are less than $300, if you get a stage 1,2, or 3.

$300 isnt to much it will work with my stock stuff? and i will try that as well see if it helps :)

I wouldn't buy a no name clutch off ebay, just because I dont want to have to climb under my car and replace it again if it fails. Get an act from a reputable vendor.

I also highly recommend the SBR 3500 clutch from Slowboyracing. I have one in my GST, and love it. Fairly smooth engagement, and holds like a mother. Also, clutch pedal pressure is basically like stock. Oh yeah, no break in required either.

I have an act 2100 in my Gst and that thing grips like no other. Definetly worth that money. Or if your not looking to go with lots of power go to pep boys or auto zone and pick up a stock clutch disk. it'll hold as long as your not launching the car everyday.

Like v8killer said I have a an ACT 2100 and I love it to. I wouldn't buy a noname brand clutch off ebay either.

i just got done putting in a stage 4 XTD 6 puck unsprung clutch in my car this weekend. im very happy with engagement. not one problem with it so far. there a steal for the price next best kept secret in my opinion. i compared them to my buddies center force and its made just as well. the clutch pedal almost feels like stock pressher too i love it . and this clutch can hadel past 500hp most people with 2600 act's are killing there leg muscles.

... most people with 2600 act's are killing there leg muscles...

I have an ACT2600 Setup and I couldn't be happier. It really isn't THAT stiff IMO. It takes a week or so of getting used to, but now that I've been driving it for a while, other clutches just feel "flimsy" in comparison. I like the stiff pedal pressure.

I thought when I had the 2600 it was a little to stiff for a daily in traffic.. The 2100 would be good if you want a stock feel with something that grips..
