I'm swapping out my clutch for an RRE X-Clutch and will most likely need a new friction surface as per Mike said from RRE. I contacted Clutchmasters direct since they're only about 10 mins away from me but they want a damn $104 for a new friction surface!!!!! I've heard RRE sells the Fidanza ones cheaper. I've searched and found that Fidanza makes the clutchmasters aluminum flywheel and that it's just a "rebadged" fidanza. Anyone know or have any HARD evidence that they are the same? I just need to know because I'd like to know a vendor that has the damn friction surface for a bit cheaper than $104. Thanks all

Check the friction surfaces you may not need new ones. If your unsure bring the flywheel to them and see what they think. I would go with the original manufacures replacements if you need them. You are asking for problems with your idea. Pulling the trans back in sucks a ss!!!
Do it once and be better off.

I've read on the forums that Clutchmaster's flywheel IS the exact of fidanza cause they made it for them (fidanza for CM). Does anyone know where I could buy the clutchmasters friction surface from a dealer and not from clutchmasters themselves? They tend to sell their own stuff for more. Also tsifreak do you have any pics of a decent looking friction surface on an aluminum flywheel? Thanks

Yes. Call or email Road Race Engineering. They have the surfaces for sale, but don't have them on their website. Like I said, call or email and they will hook you up. Its also the cheapest price I found out there for the surface.

I'm pretty sure this guy has sorted it out, in the past two years. Anyways, I've seen plenty of places with the friction surface for ~90.

I just bought the flywheel on ebay for 170.
