Merry Christmas Guys! :hellyeah:
Well I'm fairly new to DSMs and picked up my 97 GST a month ago and love it! But I had a problem where I was driving down a hill, and my engine would rev but the car wouldn't accelerate? I could physically push the clutch in and out but mechanically it would do nothing. I could even shift without having the clutch engaged! The car would roll, and would not move. It was as if I had the car in neutral, it'll rev, but it wouldn't move, and I could shift without the clutch, so the clutch was labeled useless at this point. Also, the car would not turn on when the clutch wasn't engaged, even though it would do nothing when it was on. WTF Should I replace the tranny altogether? Could it be a simple leak? If it helps, my car has 107k miles and is bone stock with the exception of a 3' exhaust. I will try to update you guys on what's going on!

The switch that keeps the car from starting when the clutch is engaged is separate from how the clutch interacts with the transmission, so even if the clutch was broken and the tranny was shot you would still need to push the pedal down for the engine to start.

As for your problem it sounds like the clutch is stuck in the disengaged position. I would go down onto the transmission and see if you can move the clutch fork. If there is no resistance I would bet that something internal is bad and the transmission will need to be removed to find the issue. Good luck.

The car worked perfectly the day before, but I don't know what could have caused this...
