I recently did an engine swap in my 1g GST and I put a stage 2 Competition Clutch in it. I got the engine running and sounding great. However, the clutch will not disengage. It feels good and tight and catches but does not disengage. Did something go wrong with the install? I am a teacher but wrench on the side for a hobby. I am not a genius but have done alot of work on many cars. I replaced the slave cylinder and the master cylinder just so that I can rule them out. What else can I do? Do I have to go back in and pull the tranny?

I bled it for a long time but I will bleed on it some more. Could I have done something wrong on the install? Everything seemed to only go in place one way.

I was having disengagement problems when I changed from ACT 2600 to CM FX500. I tried many things, but the only thing that really fixed it was to put one flat and one lock washer under the pivot ball. Previous to this, I adjusted the clutch pedal, installed longer slave cyl rod, installed ss braided clutch line (to slave cyl)... none of these worked. But since I did all of these in addition to the washers, I disengage immediately (~25% pedal).

Bleeding the clutch is much easier than the brakes. Since the clutch sticks to the floor, it makes it a one person job. If you use the "hose in the bottle" method, you will be able to see when all the air has been evaculated.

I am having a similar problem with th clutch sticking to the floor and the clutch not disengaging, Once I get it to disengage it will slowly start engaging gian when my clutch pedal is still on the floor.

I replaced my clutch and put the clutch disk on backwords. Did you look close on your clutch. They say this side to flywheel on one side I guess. That was my problem.

Goodluck

theres a proper way to bleed the clutch, if not done right air will remain in the system, also, since you said you replaced the master cylinder, try adjusting your clutch pedal via the master cylinder rod.
