clutch very stiff

ok so im new to the dsm's and havent drove a stick since my 89 justy... ya i said justy. but i know that my clutch should not be doing this crap. let me put it as simple as i can. when i get ready to let the cluch out it wants to burst out at me, it feels like there some on the other side of the petle pushing it up. god knows how long its been like this the kid that owned it before me really did a number on the car, im fixing all kinds of stuff. but it seems to me that mabey the slave cylinder is bad becuse the clutch has absolutly no sweet spot, its either engaged or not, this has also really messed up my motor mounts. does any one thingk it could be the slave cylinder??

not that ima aware, well if im in wot and i go to shift no matter how hard i push the clutch it grinds to second, not to bad but i thing the clutch is a crapy stock one. i can even give it a few seconds before i put in 2nd and it still grinds. i dont thing the slave cylinder is engaging all the way on top of being stuck or somthing

Clutch wouldnt necesarily cause a grinding of gears unless it isnt fully disengaging. thats probably a syncro issue. as for the stiff unforgiving clutch, id say its probably aftermarket or the springs are broken

outstanding, that realy helps, it sounds like the slave is sticking like i thought, and the petal is back out to far. ill take a look at it tomorow. thanks man

this has also really messed up my motor mounts

Could you elaborate on this a bit? Unless your bell-housing is cracked and the transmission is physically moving I can't see how a clutch could affect the motor-mount.

well its hard to explain. since the clutch has very little travel the pressure plate and fly wheel meet realy hard if your not careful, it sounds like this "THUUDDD". ive goten good at finding the VERY VERY small sweet spot on the fly tho. since the car has so many miles on it and the mounts are stock and old there weak and the clutch has only made them worse.. ive got some 70a avid mounts coming soon with a clutch masters 2500 and fidanza flywheel, when im down there putin it in im going to adjust the clutch petel and make sure its good. i dont want this to happen again.
