clutch slave cylinder installation

Hi,

Ive been working on installing my rebuilt motor and I was wondering if anybody has any experience in installing their clutch slave cylinder after taking the motor and transmission out. The rod from the slave cylinder on my car is all the way out. Do I need to bleed it to get it to retract so I can install it?

take out the clip that holds the hard line to the trans housing, then screw the line to the cylinder, then bolt the cylinder to the trans. Re-install the hardline/clip to the trans. Bleed when you are done. If the master cylinder push-rod is adjusted right, you shouldn't need to open the bleeder to compress the slave cylinder.
