clutch pedal sticks

So i just got my tranny rebuilt and once i installed everything and pushed the clutch in it stayed down. It was working fine before everything was disassembled. I also installed a new clutch assembly and flywheel correctly. When i have a buddy push in the pedal i see the slave cylinder moving and i see it not returning. Im going to check for any restrictions in the clutch line that may have happened in the install and i will be bleeding the clutch. Im hoping that its being caused by air that may have entered the system. I just dont think the slave or master cylinder would go bad with no use since it was working normally before everything was uninstalled. Any suggestions? I just spend a crap load of money on all this and im hoping one of the cylinders didnt go bad by itself.

I've actually had this happen to me before after swapping an engine in my old 2g. The pedal would go about halfway down and then stick to the floor. The first thing I would suggest you check is the master cylinder. Crawl in upsidedown underneath your dash and look up by the clutch pedal with a small flashlight if you can. Reach your hand on the rod that connects to the pedal and see if it is wet. If the rod is wet, or you can visually see fluid, you probably need a new or rebuilt master cylinder. Also with hydraulic clutches sometimes you have to literally bleed it, drive it and drive it, and keep bleeding before it comes out of it. Hope this helps.
