Clutch pedal sticks

hey guys hope you can help!

I have a 98 gs-t with a 6 bolt swap and 2nd gen tranny my problem is its hard to go into gear and the pedal sticks about halfway up when returning from floor. I putt a new clutch in pressure plate and tob , now it wont go into gear at all unless the cars off and the peadl still stick ? so i am assuming that its, a the slave cylinder or b the clutch master cylinder i have bleed it and all still no change and im not losing fluid at all no leaks help [lease thanks again mike. p.s. i have searched the threads for days now with no help

i have the same swap and the same problem man......check your shif linkage cables to make sure there not broken,when you bleed the slave use the 2 man method and press peddle to floor bleed,close bleeder and pull pedal back up repeat this process until pressure is built if not bilding pressure you might have a leak,check the master slave also becuase they recieve the same amount of wear and tear...are you using a 6bolt flywheel or a 7 and did you do the full 6bolt swap or did you keep the 2g head?

yes i did the full 6 bolt swap me and my buddy that works for waikem mitsu, bled the heck out of it still no difference new shifter linkage and also its a 6 bolt fly wheal any more suggestion thanks

Most likely your clutch master cylinder, I had the same problem. clutch would stick and eventually wouldn't go into gear. I just changed the master and slave at the same time...

im guessing its your slave cylinder for why its sticking. but the reason why it wont go into gear im not sure. do you have the right shift linkage? i know your supposed to use the linkage from whatever tranny you put in. other than that my only guess would be the clutch was put in wrong.

Well i bought the the master and the slave in staled booth. Bled 20 times no air in lines what so ever, Still would not go into gear on ground raised the lift and it will go into gear in the air so obviously i guess the clutch dill not disengage ? so i went back to and got a new OEM clutch pedal assembly still would not go into gear but i do have great pedal now and pedal pops right up every time so that problems fixed but as of now i pulled the tranny back out and ordered another clutch i think its a defective pressure plate or wrong thickness of the clutch ill have to see tom,

also what year clutch would i use if im using a 2nd gen tranny but a 6 bolt motor?

hmmmmm did u inspect the clutch fork and pivot ball? hopefuly you replaced the pivot ball when you did the clutch....6 bolt swap with the 6 bolt flywheel on the 2nd gen tranny? i dont think that will will matter much,if i am correct the 1g and 2g trannys are pretty much the same,i dont think your shifting problem is coming from there,,,recheck your shift linkage again it more than likely needs an adjustment..also make sure everything is bolted and torqued to spec,so the car will start? just wont go in gear?

i have a 6bolt block 2g head with the 2g tranny with the 6 bolt flywheel,only reason i used the 6 bolt flywheel is becuase of the 1g CAS..

So i have the tranny out now again i am assuming its the wrong year clutch. So im going to try another still dont see how that would make a difference used same exact clutch before install just bought a new one so not to sure yet

Also i have had the 6 bolt swap done for a few years now

ok heres the problem man.....check your hydraulic line from master to slave make sure there is no leak......remeber i have the same problem but i just got mine fixed......replace the TOB and pressure plate,most likely the TOB...im 99% sure thats the prob....try that and let me know what happens.....hope ive been been helpful =)

check your clutch master cylinder , i had th same problem and it burned my clutch because it didnt let go all the way, try to do it asap.
