I know that this may sound a ittle crazy ROFL but, is there a way to make the clutch pedal stiffer. Yes, I said stiffer. I drive my GST every day and it has a very light clutch pedal. When I jump in my Mustang, I feel like I am trying to leg press 75lbs. I never thought of my Mustang Clutch as heavy until I got the GST. I was thinking that maybe a new Master and Slave Cylinder would help since it has the original at 135,xxx miles. I am slowly working through the quirks and general age of all the parts on the car. I was bone stock when I purchased it. So, obviously I have a good bit of parts to replace rather than waiting for them to fail.
 
get a heavier clutch. it will make the pedal stiffer and also be an upgrade which should be done before you upgrade other things to make sure the power makes it to the ground. other than that i doubt there is another way to make it stiffer without killing the response of the clutch.
 
I do plan on getting something better than OEM. I just cannot justify dropping a new one in when this new OEM only has 1000 miles on it. Maybe once I go through and replace everything else like PS Pump, belts, I wanna have a tranny rebuild along with a motor rebuild. I will wait to do a clutch and flywheel until the tranny gets rebuilt. I just was unsure if maybe it was a sign of a bad master or slave cylinder.
 
if you suspect a problem with those parts then check to see if when you keep the clutch pedal held if the slave stays put, or gradually springs back. if it springs back, then one of the 2 is bad. a 4 cylinder clutch will be lighter than a v8 clutch because it doesn't have to hold the amount of torque.
 
I expected it to be lighter, it is just a huge difference. It may not be that bad, it may just be that I am so accustomed to the Mustang. I never thought the Mustang one was heavy, never even thought about it until I bought the GST. The car the GST replaced was an auto from Generic Motors.
 
Things that CAN help are putting in SS lines to replace the rubber section and potentially taking out the relief valve in the slave cylinder. Heavier clutch setup is the only way to get a heavy pedal feel. Just make sure you have your pedal adjusted properly.

You think the DSM clutch is light? Go try your Mustang clutch and then hop into a VW Golf and compare. There is NO clutch feel on it at all.
 
I want to do SS lines. I have aspirations for this car of 275-300whp as a DD. Right now my focus is replacing the original components whether they need it or not and in turn, trying to avoid a break down. I have alot of work ahead as, it seems to be original from the factory components. I just don't want to get into making power before I replace components that keep the car going down the road at all. Whether things need replaced or not, my thought is that they have 135,xxx miles on them. They should be replaced regardless of proper operation.

I had to replace the Intake because the clips were broken on the airbox and I was afraid of sucking something into the turbo or engine. I went out and bought an aftermarket intake instead of just replacing with a factory piece and upgrading later. Some parts you just get the OEM, some I am going aftermarket. Right now, I am working on the faulty parts or parts I am nervous are going to fail soon. Such as my wobbly pwer steering pump pulley. It wobble wobbles.
 
So you only turn the ROD....when you loosen up the lock nut because i was trying to loosen up that clamp or lock inside that bracket...:confused:
 
Yes, you want a heavier clutch? Grab a 2100 - 2600. My GSX had a 2100 on it, and the day that I got my GST, I couldn't tell that I was even pressing the clutch. Took me a good 2 days to get used to it, and sometimes I still let it go too fast and bark tires at stop-signs.. @__@ Hey, at least my clutch is good..

no i have a 2100 clutch on the car. But the clutch "FEEL" was good until i replace some parts not long ago and had my car on jack stands in the grass. Then it rained and the car feel, so im still looking for any damaged things but theres no signs of anything broken. The pedal will go all the way down to the floor but the clutch will engage and disengage. I will sink as if you didnt have any fluid in the line.
