I searched for this problem but had no luck.

My clutch suddenly gets hard to press down to the floor the last 1/4 Inch or so. It goes in fine until it reaches that last 1/4 inch and then you have to use considerable force to move it to the floor.

I checked the slave cylinder and the boot on the push rod was jammed in the housing, I was able to get it out and the clutch is still doing the same thing.
Perhaps a piece of the boot is caught inside the slave cylinder.

Please help,
Thanks!

Okay, so I just took out the slave Cyl. and cleaned it all out... there was no rubber from the boot inside anywhere... I cleaned it and put it back, Bled the system and Still get the same problem! hahah. I'm stumped. and the bushings on the clutch pedal? you mean the one where the master cyl. push rod slides through in the interior of the car? It seemed okay when I looked at it.

Where is the clutch grabbing at towards the top or down below? Sounds to me your clutch is out of adjustment and the throw out bearing fork is at it's limit meaning the fork arm is hitting up against the tranny so you getting the hard pedal which actually the fork is pressed up against the tranny. How do I know this, well I have snapped that fork once myself when I was new to these cars,LOL.

The clutch grabs at the bottom of its stroke. As soon as I hit about 1/4 -1/2 inch from the wall, I have to press really hard to go the rest of the way. I see what your saying.. I will get someone to take a look at the fork while I press down on the pedal tomorrow. It was fine when I drove it in reverse to back up into my garage before I did the Cylinder head Gasket. And I never monkeyed with it since then..
