Clutch intermentently works and weird speedometer problem

Hey guys rhetorical question!

Trying to fix up my "new" (to me hehe) DD GST. My clutch works sometimes but not always, loosing pressure and engaging at the bottom by the floor, but than one day it is stiff like new and engages at the top of the pedal like my gsx, only to go back to squishy the next day. I assume it is the Master or Slave cylinder, but wondering if I could get help figure out wether it was one or the other.

I also just found out that the odometer and travel meter on my car work at about 1/10th the speed it should, so this car says it has 117k miles on it, but I wouldnt' be surprised if it had ALOT more. The speedometer always works only when decelerating, but never with my foot on the pedal. Any ideas there while we are at it?

for the speedometer make sure your plug on the tranny is on there good and tight, take it off and replug it maybe

sounds like you might just need a new slave cylinder

Second that. Replace the slave cylinder and FLUSH/BLEED the fluid.

Mind if I ask how you know if it is master or slave? I just knows you are supposed to change both at the same time, but since this is something I just have on the side, no need to waste money.
