Alright I bought this car the way that it is, my 6th Eclipse my 4th turbod' one. I've always heard people with slipping clutches normally had symptoms in the higher gears..well my problem is only in 1st and 2nd. If I get on it in wot most the the time it will slip in 1st and sometimes 2nd but never in any other gear no matter what kind of load is on it. The clutch was replaced by the previous owner I know for a fact last summer. It wasn't stock, but I'm unsure of the kind and he did have the flywheel machined. I looked and I don't see any oil or anything around the bellhousing..the car has a 6 bolt swap. The only other thing I can think of it to check the tranny bolts to the block tomorrow..the car also has a squeeky TOB, but I don't know if it could cause slippage like that could it? It also has a leaky master, but I add fluid to it everyday and don't let it get low. I also read they wouldn't make the clutch slip..also I've adjusted it several differant ways and it made no differance in the slippage....any ideas? Thanks!

Where does the clutch engage when you let off? Have you bled the clutch? The master cylinder rod may need to be adjusted for the clutch, but I do not know in till with out the engagement point of the clutch.

The adjustment point seems to move around from time to time. I have adjusted the master cylinder rod before (that is the rod you twist behind the clutch pedal right?) If so I have adjusted it several ways and it still slipped. It can go from disenaging almost right off the floor, but most of the time the clutch pedal gets real hard to push and releases right at the very top..any ideas? No I haven't bled the clutch b/c of the leaky master. I'm planning on replacing that sometime this week. Anyone have a how to on how to rebuild one?

Here is a picture of an exploded clutch master cylinder from my Haynes shop manual. If you buy a rebuild kit it should be easy to figure out were every thing goes.

I believe your clutch's pressure plate may be bad, it only slips in low gears because those gears have the most torque. I do not think the hydraulics of the clutch are the problem if it disengages fine, but if they are leaking you should fix them.

Do you think it could be the 2g "pedal pump up" I have adjusted the rod adjuster several times, but everytime I adjust it to where I want it the disengagement point always moves...I havent tried to adjust the upper adjuster yet..before I do is it the same as the rod adjuster (loosing a nut and turning a rod) or how does it work, and which way should I turn it?

Same as the other rod just lossen the bolt and turn in or out, but I don't think it is your hydraulics but a problem with the clutch its self, the hydraulics disengage the clutch but do nothing to engage it that is the pressure plates job.
