2G Clutch interlock switch not working properly?

I recently did an automatic to manual conversion on my 1999 eclipse gs 420a. I installed the clutch interlock switch which is needed to start the car. I tried turning the engine over and for some reason the car will only turn over if you do NOT press the clutch in. If you press the clutch in the car won't turn over. It's almost like the switch is in reverse. Some one please help!

Did you connect both switches? There should be two switches one that is pressed when the clutch is engaged and one when its disengaged. You can hook up one switch and not the other but depending on your configuration or what your trying to do you may need to connect the two wires for the other switch together or to a relay while starting. Essentially one switch disengages cruise control one disengages starter relay circuit there's more to it but one switch has to be closed while the other needs to be open etc. hope this helps haven't worked on a 2g in forever
