Well this is the place to come when i need some help so Please feel free to offer any links or suggestions where i'm Lost.

So i dropped my car off to a shop that i thought could do the job. Putting an ACT 2600 6 Puck into the 99 gsx. Well after about a week The guy is still having problems and tells me is there anyway you can do some research and maybe figure it out.

The clutch is in ATM but when you try to put it into reverse it grinds. Replaced the master cylinder and extended the rod but to still no avail. He describes the problem that you can't push the clutch down far enuf to disengage it.

He was trying to explain to me the problem but i'm no tranny god. Thats why i took it to the shop! They did my friends awd talon with a 2100 and i believe it was their first ever. anyways, The couple things i did while i was there - Bleed the clutch i pumped it a good 50+ times to the floor givin it hell. Still grinded when i put it into reverse. I'm really at a loss and i know that the shop should know what there doing. Please help give me some light..

First of all, get rid of that extended rod, that is nothing but a band aid. Did you adjust the clutch at all? When you install a new clutch, you need to adjust the pedal.

IF you have no free play the piston in the clutch master cylinder could be extending past the resevoir hole to the slave cylinder effectually locking the system. I'd start with adjusting your free play. I usually adjust it until there is approx 1/2-3/4" free play. From there if you still have a problem and your system is holding pressure (i.e. slave cylinder travels properly) its likely mechanical interference in the bell housing. Possibly the throwout bearing fork is not set up right. There could be interference between the clutch disc and pressure plate. the pressure plate bolts may not be torqued properly, etc... Unfortunately there are many variables.

I completely understand the Mechanic at the shop asked me to do some research. I'm not touching the car myself i gave it to them to install it. Not for me to gather info and do it myself or id be in a horrible PITA. Anyways Guys list any "variables" it could be. I'm open to anything because the Mechanic will be checking (ALL) the ideas you will list. Ill be printing a sheet off for him of all the ideas/remedys you will be listing!

I think I listed most of the variables however there is one important one. If they didn't cut the step on the flywheel properly it will cause this issue. Cant remember the spec on the depth. Maybe someone can chime in that figure.

couldn't tell you the depth on it but i leave it as a suggestion to him. All i know is they put it on a "laith" i dunno how to spell that corrently but i'm sure you get the idea. It steps the flywheel down. Anyways if theres any more questions or do this tries i'm all for it but thanks for everything so far. Kinda dumb i'm the one researching and not the mechanic.

Sometimes putting another clutch kit, you have to put a washer under the pivot ball.
But I think in this case, the system is not properly bleeded, or bad slave cylinder
