clutch gst problem

hey guys i have 97 gst spyder where my clutch was working fine before i plled engine and trans as i need to put in a different engine ..now when i depress clutch on pedal it feels fine til half way it make this obvious click noise and it wont go into gear..i looked at stlave cylinder..its fine ..put gear lube in and now it doesnt work
any suggestions or anyonerun into this problem?

maybe you put the pin that locks down your release bearing on wrong, those things are really annoying and alot of people mess them up

my eclipse started ticking also after i rebuilt motor. im kind of thinking that it might be the throw out bearing. i replaced my trans 2 years ago with a new clutchmasters 6 puck and worked fine before i did engine rebuild. but i believe my problem is either starter or throw out bearing issue
