Hey everyone, I got a 92 GSX and i broke my clutch fork in half. I heard there is a place that makes a stronger clutch?? What do you think i should do...Go with the mitsu or find the upgrade? thanks..Dan

A new Mitsu clutch fork will hold up very well. If you want to spend the extra money on a CNC machined billet chromoly fork check out TabooSpeedShop.com

i would be a little cautious when dealing with taboo, i ordered a billet clutch fork 2 months ago, and havent recieved it yet. i see that alot of people have that problem, and he accepted the payment for it the next day. he will not reply to all of the emails i sent him either.

Taboo may take a while to ship things, but he does ship them. He actually has to make them, he is a reputable dealer though. Other shops sell them as well. Try Shep or Slow Boy to see if they carry his forks. The fork is definitely better than stock. If you're just going to use a stock clutch, there's no need to upgrade.

I don't think a "reputable dealer" would not reply to any emails, and not send their products. I have heard alot more bad stuff about him than good. I emailed shep and he said that he didnt know what to tell me and he might not be in business anymore. He sure can tke you money, though :thumbdown . I would just like my clutch fork so i can get my car done.

1st off...

I've bought a few parts from Martin @ Taboo Speedshop, and let me tell you, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a DSM vendor. I ordered a SS clutch fork from him and waited for a few weeks.... Nothing? His website said it was "in stock" and so I thought it woulda been here immediately since I only live a few hours away... WRONG! I tried to get in touch with him SEVERAL times via email etc etc, no reply. Finally send one off that he *eventually* replied to, and he said it had already been sent. I assured him it had NOT and he told me "Well fine, I'll go ahead and send you ANOTHER one since I can't find a delivery confirmation for the fork." Gee thanks :thumbdown I did get the fork, but it took forever and was a hassle.

Fast forward to about 3/4 months back, I was welding my clutch pedal assy and wanted to use his "Bronze impregnated clutch pedal bushings" I ordered a set off his site (which claimed they were "in stock" as well) and waited. One week went by, then two, then three... I emailed him again and again with no replies whatsoever. I finally had to pm him on dsmtalk and he told me to "stop my whining" and explained I'd have to wait longer. I wait another week and tried contacting him again but this time he ignored my PMs, emails, and has no phone to speak of (for obvious reasons) so I couldn't get in touch. I literally had to call him out on dsmtalk and there was a HUGE thread on that, which was deleted immediately LOL. I got my money back thanks to the good folks at paypal and that was that.

The parts are trick, but I'll never ever do business with that guy again. I shouldn't have even tried him out a 2nd time but I really needed those bushings. Oh and now I'm "black listed" from ordering anything from them since I spoke out about what I felt was a raw deal.

Cliffnotes: If you have all the time in the world and don't care when or if you ever recieve the part you want, then you'll no doubt be comfotable ordering through taboo. :thumbdown

it has been too long for me to get anytning back from paypal. you would think something could be done about it. i would like to see if anybody else would be interested in making the forks. i think it is b.s. that everone has to wait on this guy, all we need is someone who can make them and actually ship out the orders.

Be patient. TSS is not a cookie factory. Too bad your fork did not get there 2 days after you ordered it. It states EXPLICITLY on their site that it will take a MINIMUM of 3 weeks for you to receive a part from the purchase date. It also clearly says that if you don't feel like this is satisfactory for you, YOU should not place the order. I get pissed off when I see a DSM'er (and custom DSM fabricator) like Taboo get his name dragged through the mud since a bunch of whiny pissy moaners have an axe to grind with him. YOU WILL GET YOUR SH!T! Just wait... Good things come to those who wait.

Oh...and I challenge you to find somebody who will make you an equivalent piece like his and beat his price as well. Don't get shocked buying your "custom" piece for 2-3X what Taboo sells his. Good day! :thumb:

Evil1gDSM...You can get a stock fork if you want to. It may break again. If you are in no rush, get TSS's fork. Much much stronger than stock and you will not break it. ;) I replaced my stock fork (it wasn't broken) just for that extra assurance when I launch the crap out of the car.

Well, the thing is, he actually makes that stuff in house. It's not like they are sitting on the shelf waiting to get boxed up. Sometimes, he can have a backlog and it takes him awhile to catch up. TSS isn't really a business but something he does on the side that he DOES NOT make any money off of. He just makes a few items to help out the DSM community. If you visit his website, you will see/notice other stuff he does in this regard. You really should get that stuff very soon. Just wait and drive the other DSM. With TSS, it's always a good idea to anticipate what you are going to need and order early.

I'm in Springfield and Thanks! for the compliment. :thumb:

I had a great experiance dealing with them. I ordered my extended slave cyl rod and it came a week later. It worked great until it decided to bend in half on my way to the track. Luckily I still had my stock unit with me, I threw it on the car along with a bit of a ghetto rig shim job. Went out and ran low 12's all night.

Like I said.... I ordered my ss clutchfork a lil over a year and a half ago and their site said no such things. Just do a search on taboo and see how fantastic they are! Great parts, crappy service. Now on his site it explains all how it's not a business and you can expect the wait etc.

If you have a few cars that's cool. I only have one :(

At any rate that's all water under the bridge for me now, and as I stated previously. If you don't care when or if the parts show up, then he's the man! :thumb:
